Daily Prompt: You, the Sandwich

If a restaurant were to name something after you, what would it be? Describe it.

The burgers out of all the other burgers, will be named the Stoner Burger. It packs a punch that makes you want to sit there stoning and enjoying every oomph bite.

The duo stacking thick beef covered with melting cheese that oozes out each time you decide to put your mouth in, will make you wonder why you’ve ever want to eat anywhere else,

Fresh juicy tomatoes and crunched lettuces giving you the natural classic burger wrapped in a layer of fried egg that goes in between the thick beef. Patties with soft tender quality bread, that’s easy to deal but still huge in size.

Served with huge french fries, and a good warm mash potato, by the time you’re done, you’ll be Stoning in your seat.

Stoneriffic!

Daily Prompt: Party Animals (?)

After spending time with a group of people, do you feel energized and ready for anything or do you want to hide in the corner with a good book?

You know, after spending time with a group of people, sometimes it really feels kinda both. At times, I will feel like I’m ready to do explore more with this group that I have because it feels great to be around them. It makes me feel appreciated to know that there are people around me who’s willing to spend time to go out and have fun, and that’s where the energy kicks in

Yet at the same time it does feel like after there’s too much of people, that you just feel it’s too much to handle. Maybe also because there isn’t much to talk about. At that point of time, I’ll take out a book and catch up on reading.

Daily Prompt: The Road Less Traveled

Pinpoint a moment in your past where you had to make a big decision. Write about that other alternate life that could have unfolded.

The N levels were over and school kids were relieved. Everyone has managed to get their results, after the break. I received mine as well, carefully opening the sealed envelope and i  saw the number ‘9’ on the paper. That moment, i wanted to shout and say ‘Yes!’ , overjoyed like the as if i won the ‘grammies’ kind of person because at last i passed.

Wasn’t expecting too much on better results, because I found the results i achieved was already good enough. Studies wasn’t really my main forte, so upon hearing my principal’s talk on a new scheme program that allows students to skip their O levels next year, and choose to go to ITE Higher Nitec, I’ve made that very decision, and that change my whole life, learning more valuable things and things I had more interested in.

I guess if I had stayed at continue my O level’s like how the others did, I could have just graduated with probably averagely pass, get lower marks, or won’t be knowing what to do after.I could have passed and get into polytechnic studies earlier, but it would have been a different course. I would have graduated with all my other classmates who stayed through, and went NS earlier on.

I wouldn’t have had more ex’s in secondary school than i have during the ITE days. 😀 , I might be still slacking with the secondary school boys, and talk about how great secondary school has been, because I wouldn’t have experience what its like to be in ITE, (schooling in ITE, was still the best thing that happened to me)

I would have been chilling with the boys I know in my secondary school most of the time, because they’re the only friends I had that time.

Alternate life that was less travelled, could have been.

Daily Prompt: 21st Century Citizen

Do you belong in this day and age? Do you feel comfortable being a citizen of the 21st-century? If you do, explain why — and if you don’t, when in human history would you rather be?

I’ve been as a citizen of the 21st century for 12 years now, but I’ve never really felt like i was born in it. Though I’m one with advancing technology and new cool ideas, especially when in this 21st century, it somehow always felt like I can never catch up with what’s going on. Everything seems to be moving ‘too fast too furious’.

I’m comfortable with the nature of advances and how the productivity is very efficient nowadays. Phones, wi-fi, data plans, the cool Macbook, awesome new genres of music.

Most of the common diseases are now able to be cured, and knowledge is vast with the power of ‘Google’ and the internet.

However, the only thing that’s lacking is that moment of time where you just enjoy over the smallest little things.

I miss how easy it was entertain oneself by playing catching, hopscotch, and Three Blind Mice. There were no Iphones, nor Android phones. There was no need for a rush to school because the trains wasn’t packed. Everything seemed simple back then, and we lead a calm life. It was easy to get accustomed to most things, and there wasn’t a need to hurry.

The sunny weather wouldn’t have felt as warm as now with its ozone layer depleting fast, and more time was spent with the family, and fewer distractions.

I remembered having to hear the sound of the DSL phone cable connection, success, and finally I’m on the internet. I miss dialling my mum using the rotary dial telephone, and how it sound goes every time i turn i dial.

It feel like i was belong to be in the 20th century, or a little bit behind the 21st century.

Daily Prompt: Morality Play

Daily Prompt Morality Play

Where do your morals come from — your family? Your faith? Your philosophical worldview? How do you deal with those who don’t share them, or derive them from a different source?

Morals have been taught through my generation of family ever since i was young. Back then, grandma with her own methods, choose to teach me through different warnings. Being in the Singaporean or so-called ‘Asian’ background, if you’ve not known, has one of the most strictest parents, brought it a very conservative nature.

“No staring”, ” “Don’t say pig”, No this and that and what nonsense. “No climbing the walls”, I guess I never would understand why I cant, and if I were to say it or do it, I’ll most likely see the cane gripped into the palm of their hands. That’s when I know ‘okay this is wrong’

Morals was built upon lessons and lessons of trials as a kid. I’ve sooner or later learnt that the more good things I do, the more rewards I’ve managed to get in return. I was annoying and irritating as a kid trying to persuade others into getting what i want, but I’ve learnt that winning the hearts of my parents by being ‘good’ was more effective than trying to whine and get what I want later in life, so that tackled the source of the problem, my morality.

Other than that, morals just came in through reading of books that helps to understand the difference of right and wrong, though sometimes i still do believe that there’s no right or wrong answers, just good and bad choices. Then again, sometimes i believe that there isn’t good and bad choices, so just follow what’s feel’s like its right at that very moment. So now i kind think it’s best to follow what works effective.

I’ve also got to admit, at first it was hard to deal with those who has a different approach to the morality that I have, but I’ve learnt, that not everyone was born in the same way or condition as I was, so their views might be totally different, and i respect that its their morals they choose to live with.

At certain times, I’ll try to give my two cents worth to see if they’re willing to improve or accept a new moral to benefit their life  but not to force them to change, so that it really benefits me.

Daily Prompt: Shape Up or Ship Out

Write a letter to the personality trait you like least, convincing it to shape up or ship out. Be as threatening, theatrical, or thoroughly charming as is necessary to get the job done.

Inspired by the Daily Prompts.

Dear Choosy,

I am so concerned for you. How have you been coming along ? I remembered having to deal with you recently on what to do on Sunday night.

I kinda wish that you would just let me decide, and not come back and interfere me every time I’ve made my decision, and come up with 36743532678 more plans.

Some days, I miss you. I can still recall having to choose over so many pants and shirts over at Uniqlo, the walk to Bugis Street, and having to want to buy all the things in the store, yet you stop me. You saved me from the wicked offer sales that’s bound to test the humanity of mankind, and for that I can’t thank you enough.

I do however want to emphasise on a point. I wish you would shape up and not to be choosy when it comes to finding a partner. It has blown the juice out of me, having to go out on a nice date, then having you put my ‘flaws’ scanner into play.  At least if you can’t be a little less choosy, then don’t come at all.

I have adapted to your kind survival kit reflexes, when it comes to money-making, but relationships is not one of them. Let me sink in deep for a little, without having to think of how she’s not so magical, or one that I’ll get problems with.

I sometimes despise your connection with Mr Perfect and Mr Bored, having them to make me feel bad during certain days, thinking that you’re all part of a mafia ready to conquer every time I’m awake.

I hope not, because then I’ll have to ship you out, and that feeling is not worth it cause you’re still a friend I want to have during rainy days.

Regards
Stoner.

Daily Prompt: You’ve Got the Power

You have the power to enact a single law. What would it be?

For All Mankind

For All Mankind (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Earth.

The patience of mankind is on the line here. There are so many laws, some laws  are important to some people , maybe not to others. I can think of many laws that i might want to change in my own country, but not applicable to other countries.

I can’t tell you the details of all the laws they have everywhere, or even in the US because I don’t follow them or know much about them. I can though roughly say that if there was a law that I’d like to engage and enact upon, that would be to engage in environmental laws, which I feel has a deep impact to society and the whole world.

Be it climate change, environmental issues pertaining to air and water supplies across the world. Supporting non-profit organisations to save the world we still need to call home. I believe it’s a broad category. I think that i would really focus on enacting these laws, if i was given a chance, i would.

I’m sure you want too (unless you’re planning to get roasted in the times to come from the glaring hot sun)
