Daily Prompt: From the Collection of the Artist

It’s the year 2113. A major museum is running an exhibition on life and culture as it was in 2013. You’re asked to write an introduction for the show’s brochure. What will it say?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us RETROSPCTIVE.

Welcome to the 2113 Look back a Decade Mega Exhibition

2113, not born without technology
reminding us of the 21st century
a decade has passed, reliving our history
Might our forefathers were for believing in destiny

We were born and feed with real food in our tables,
the road had cars, now extinct in our stables
the world was connected through series of cables,
governments rise and fall for they’re unstable

We learn through the crying
the planet was aching
animals and plants on news we hear them dying

When we stayed united
a plan was initiated
survive we must, other worlds we confided

Daily Prompt: 21st Century Citizen

Do you belong in this day and age? Do you feel comfortable being a citizen of the 21st-century? If you do, explain why — and if you don’t, when in human history would you rather be?

I’ve been as a citizen of the 21st century for 12 years now, but I’ve never really felt like i was born in it. Though I’m one with advancing technology and new cool ideas, especially when in this 21st century, it somehow always felt like I can never catch up with what’s going on. Everything seems to be moving ‘too fast too furious’.

I’m comfortable with the nature of advances and how the productivity is very efficient nowadays. Phones, wi-fi, data plans, the cool Macbook, awesome new genres of music.

Most of the common diseases are now able to be cured, and knowledge is vast with the power of ‘Google’ and the internet.

However, the only thing that’s lacking is that moment of time where you just enjoy over the smallest little things.

I miss how easy it was entertain oneself by playing catching, hopscotch, and Three Blind Mice. There were no Iphones, nor Android phones. There was no need for a rush to school because the trains wasn’t packed. Everything seemed simple back then, and we lead a calm life. It was easy to get accustomed to most things, and there wasn’t a need to hurry.

The sunny weather wouldn’t have felt as warm as now with its ozone layer depleting fast, and more time was spent with the family, and fewer distractions.

I remembered having to hear the sound of the DSL phone cable connection, success, and finally I’m on the internet. I miss dialling my mum using the rotary dial telephone, and how it sound goes every time i turn i dial.

It feel like i was belong to be in the 20th century, or a little bit behind the 21st century.

Daily Prompt: Silver Linings

When I ponder at the thought of Silver Linings, the ‘grey’ that’s considered to be something that’s ugly, yet at the same time trying to find the beauty in it, the things that come to my mind, is in a person’s heart and feelings.

via devianart http://fav.me/d1zkkyq

The ugly side that our hearts feel that are bound to destroy – eliminate, revenge, what do I mean? A few things to think about?

Have we taken into consideration of the person we choose to eliminate out from a group, denying his/her existence, just because they’re not like us. That’s ugly, but its a true fact, and every once in awhile we can’t deny that. Revenge, probably due to a small misunderstanding, but we don’t take it further to actually think about it, but instead react on purely emotions, purposely causing harm to another, pretended to blame an innocent sibling or friend, on something that was meant to be our own.

Have we screamed at our parents or friends, throw tantrums or engage in a staring incident, or even turn violent into another one like us, and everything else that comes after turns to a bloody mess. War. Crime. Suicide.

Yet, while understanding the nature of our heart and feelings that we can make me destroy, comes a pure bliss of graciousness and kindness. The ability to create – peace, happiness and love.

A sense of hope, deriving from the utmost strength that we choose to give out of our willingly small yet magnifique beating heart.
Our heart beautifies our world with the skills we have. Whether its complimenting someone at work, helping a friend in need. Happiness, even at the smallest of smiles to the loudest of laughters, embraces each and every living soul, giving us hope to know that our world is not all made of inhumanity.

Realising the things that we can do to create a canvas of unlimited possibilities.

Charity. Saving Lives, Making a Change.

Ain’t that a beautiful sight to see. The change does one small heart makes to change the universe that surrounds it.

Daily Prompt: Goals

The daily prompt for today!

im really happy for today’s question because it allowed me to go back in time to see how i first started my blog, and how was it like posting back then. I shall use this as a life lesson to improve on my writing skills! 🙂

When you started your blog, did you set any goals? Have you achieved them? Have they changed at all?

The starting of the blog was set up of with a goal to help ease the mind, especially, when it felt like I needed to share things. It’s the reason why I have been blogging. To be able to reach into my thoughts and express it out in words has been a main factor, is why I’ve created the blog.

When I was at the age of 10, i used to keep a diary, and write about my all feelings, the recent breakup, I scribble and drew, talking about the best moments in life. The diary didn’t really give me so much options, except helping me to express, and yet still it didn’t feel so good. So i created a blog, to share and hopefully out of the millions of people here, one would stumble across my page, and that would have felt really good. Someone knowing.

I had been with Blogger since 2004, posting on every day life, and at that point of time, I didn’t really took into consideration about what I posted, because it was actually meant for me to just post something. At times, I could have been blogging about what I’m doing, and some other days, it was mainly just pictures and random thoughts. I had started a few categories, so I ventured out to look for any other blog sites, such as WordPress, LiveJournal, Wix, and a few more sites.

I was really impressed at the WordPress method of managing the blog through by being able to assign to different categories efficiently. It first seem foreign, but eventually I managed to make my way through.

Right after the big move from Blogger to WordPress with the start of the first post in June 15, 2011, I began a new chapter.

As the time pass, I’ve decided to try experimenting with different type of categories, trying to blog about food, advices, fiction stories, and about weight management, daily questions by a site called thought questions, and now the daily prompts section by Daily Post.

Things did come and go, and at some point of time, I  didn’t manage keep my posts on certain categories active, and when i find that it’s hard to write about something, it always came back to talk about life and just sharing stories, about what you know and how you feel.

If i were to put in comparison, what I’ve written in 2011, and in 2013, I would say, I previously have had more photos, and more sharing sessions in the past. Expression was filled with photos because, ‘photos gave a clearer view and was a good way to express what i went through’.

I took the chance to turn something that was simple, and try to see where I can go with blogging. To be honest, there were times, when it just didn’t feel right, “this is not something i like to do”. that kind.

My smaller goals change from time to time, but my main goal didn’t change. To express and ease my mind. To be able to share.

update! *

I used to have these on my previous blog, but i couldn’t find it anymore, the only left remained was gif’s and banners i used to make for the blogger long time ago that somehow left me with some sense of surprise how I really went to customise my blog.

How bout you? 🙂

Daily Prompt: Key Takeaway

The Daily Post today, asks to give my newer sisters and brothers-in-WordPress one piece of advice based on my experiences blogging, which i find such an interesting topic.

I’ve been blogging for a few years, and I’m glad to share a piece of advice i have find very helpful for me which would be to express things in my own words.

I’ve always had so much different styles of writing, and I’ve tried so much ways of conveying messages across, but I would say that the best expression comes from where we’re most comfortable with. I don’t know really for sure if its for you, but for me, i find that trying to write how i feel at this point of time and being myself , allows me to convey what i want to say without trying to struggle to find things to say.

I understand that as I’m saying this, it might not apply to those who’s trying to find make a professional site, with a notch for trying to attract a certain kind of reader or community. If there was a personal blog, i would say that expression through my own choice of words allows me to  develop my own unique way of blogging, and it seems to create a certain kind of style.

A hot drink by the side at night might help to also take that tension out of the writer’s block.

There you go. 🙂

Daily Prompt: That Stings!

Without this book, i might not be who I am today. There was an amount of influence in this that have totally change my life, and I’ve read this book and its sequels, and the one that stings me the most out of all the other books is a book called The Meta Secret.

Browsing at  a bookstore near my area , i was at the self-improvement section, and there it was, right at the corner of my eye, i catch of glimpse of the book, and just something about the book makes me feel “Ok, I’m getting this one today”. Imagine a shiny glow surrounding this book among all the other books stacked in the shelves. (that’s how I see it in my imagination.)

If i were to describe it, it seems that at the point of time, when I was just searching for something more in life, and there was so many questions in my head. Literally, I went to the book, but somehow it was like a sign and this book came to me instead.

During the journey of reading this book, I was so indulged in its work and the pieces that was put together by so many strong individuals. I’ve read the book almost twice, and I’m still learning the secrets that lies within. Whenever I’ve lost a grip, the world is upside-down, this book helped me understand myself  and the universe better. It seems almost that this book is something that life takes upon itself and it made sense to me. I can visualize and see this half story/ half documentary book in my head.

Teachings of Laws of the Universe, and how we play a part in it, a teaching of wisdom, that’s what I manage to understand through it. Talking to an inner-self, allowing myself to express how i feel, that positive vibe, a sensation i can never explain, but just understand were all by this very book.
