Daily Prompt: Landscape

In today’s daily prompt, the question asks,

When you gaze out your window — real or figurative — do you see the forest first, or the trees?

When i gaze outside my window, all I can see are forests. Forests that goes endless for days. I’m a fox, reeled into the depths of the realm that goes beyond every step further deeper into the unknown. As i stroll down the uncharted forest, curiosity makes me want to go travel even more. I passed by a tree, charmed by its existence.

Just as i was about to stop to enjoy its magnificence, i saw another tree beside, this tree, is different, but in didn’t end there, the next tree, its sleek figure. The next tree sways gently with the slow calm wind. Another tree rattles its leaves upon my arrival, kindly acknowledging my appearance, seeking attention.

The calling won’t end. I couldn’t stop like I’ve wished, to enjoy its beauty because every step i take hoped that i would find the perfect tree.

All i see is the big forest, too fast to stop for any tree, but maybe, just maybe, once the time is done, and the  I would then stop for a tree.

A ShortMaking of a Masterplan

What would be your life’s masterplan? Have you ever thought of it at least for a bit, did you think of it vaguely as you go along, did you push that thoughts out and write it down in a piece of paper, or draft it out as drawings hanging in a big wall around your room, Did you push that into an in-out ear, and said ‘ I don’t know’.

Most of us have an idea of where we want to go to, but don’t see the cues that lies surrounding them. Some has their thoughts talking to themselves, still wondering what to do in life, but don’t see that their career is around them.

I once came to this stage of complex thoughts clumping into one big chunk of ‘???’ ,thinking “where do i go from here?, what do i want to do in life?, how do i guarantee that this path of life I’m taking would be the one i’ll want to go with when I’m 20 years down the road?.”

Wait, before that, where would you be 20 years down the road?
That’s something you can think about.

NOW Visualize,

Yourself in your own place, in your future bedroom, imagine yourself walking through the living room, walking out the house, the atmosphere surrounding outside your area and going to your workplace, the kind of people you wish had walking through your neighborhood or place or probably somewhere you have always dream of wanting to be, living your dreams.

COME BACK NOW.
Imagine the things you dreamt around you coming into this present world, try and remember the people you were with, what is the atmosphere you were with, how it resonate with your future plans. Is there any similarity with what you are seeing now, and the things you had. If you had, most likely you’re going towards your future direction.

Take a look around you. Scan around your room, or your workplace and imagine the things around you, look at the physical objects that represents your plans or your dreams. Does it goes in sync with the plans you had in mind? If you were an artist, do you have your surrounding filled with your art,.

You wanted to be a famous drummer one day, but do you have a garage where you’d practice your drums or find time to go for gigs , Do you have a workplace with your goals stated out. You plan to be a successful business person, but do you have a business plan in your office, ready to take off, or is your desk empty?

How to know if you’re actually going with your plans, why is this so important?
I think that this things allow you to actually redirect yourself to what you’ve always like doing. The thing is most of us do our things naturally without even knowing it. We are so accustomed to the things we like, we do not really think of it. If you’re are conscious that what you’re doing is  what you like, then good for you.

Then this question would go out to those who doesn’t have what they want in mind and see that type of similarity in front of them. Does your job or dreams resonate with what you’re doing. You could be working doing a part time job, put that aside if you are, what i meant is more like ‘ Do you see your room, or are you trying to make that dream happen? ‘

Something for us to think about again.
Bring out our life’s masterplan, For those who’s unsure what you want to be, take a look around you, look at the things you like to do, it could be signs of what you can become, it could also be served as a guidance to your future paths.  Doing it  will help us understand ourselves better, and this time round, you might open yourself up to new opportunities, things that you have not seen or aware of.

A new experience ; Movie Meetup ‘Premium Rush’

A step into a different kind of journey. Learning through experience, allowing and accepting that in this world, we shouldn’t refrain ourselves from not going out, catch a movie, play badminton when we are not with our usual bunch of friends and in this aspect, i feel that I’ve allow myself to meet up with people of different ages.

Recently, I’ve went on a really ‘out of my usual routine’ movie meetup. I knew roughly what I’m about to face, randomly meeting up strangers for the first time, not knowing each other.

An organizer named Owen, had a movie gathering over at Meetup.com and was organizing the show ‘Premium Rush’ over at Cinileisure

Premium Rush is quite an interesting show I must say.  I’ve heard friends talking about the ‘fixie bikes’ which is going so quite popular these days, and I wasn’t too sure about whether this show has got to do with the that kind of bikes, but it sure do  talk about the exhilarating and thrilling bike messengers who loves speeding on their bikes. If you like bikes with no brake and a sweaty’ pumping action/romance , then you would like the movie. Check out the IMDB review here.

Enough of that, lets go back to the story, and so there i was, outside of Cinileisure, thinking  faster than the speed of light, whether what i did was really what I wanted to do and after a final thought, yes I’m going for it.

Called up Owen, and met up with a few people in the group for the first time in my whole life, and turns out! , it was actually the first meetup session for the group. That made me felt a little relieved since everyone was also meeting up for the first time. In my mind, i would have positioned myself to be somewhere at the back of the group, not knowing anyone, cause everyone else has already knew each other.

I was surrounded with a bunch of really lovely people from different backgrounds and occupations, most of them being adults and already working, I was however the only one still studying but yet still it didn’t make me feel left out. Upon dinner, we went for Coffee Club to sit and chill.

Being surrounded with a group of adults, allows me to understand that in the working environment, there are people who have such short times of breaks, and in times like this, we are not always with our old friends, everyone is busy with something. Learning to join social meetup groups like this allows us to make time for after work activities and knowing people with the same interest.Learning to socialize with new people is also a good form of communication. Having someone to join with me and the group for dinner after the movie, i guess we all have something to talk about and so engrossed in knowing more about each other. I’ve also received advice from the lovely group who have more experience than I do, and to indulge myself into these areas allows me to understand new things in life.

If there was something i learned about the meetup, was not to limit oneself. Not to limit myself to the same people I always hang out with, school mates. I’ve learn to understand how to make new friends and also not give myself an excuse for missing a show or a Saturday off. I have to do something about it, and allow myself to make new friends.

🙂 To more meetups.

Internship In the End.

6 months has gone by, it feels like the my internship ended with a blink of an eye. Though most of the days and nights working has gone by with lots of deep memories, I’ve yet to gulp in the fact that the attachment is now over. Recalling the past few days, I was trying to go on grounds to have a last look on the terminals. I went on a first person view of deep lovely memories, walking on the travellators, looking pass the gate hold rooms. Recalling the sun shining through the huge glass panels in the background, in a distant, seeing the trees surrounding the airport boulevard. A skytrain track built over and above the car park  showing technology as it is; efficient and comforting is the word. Skytrain was the ease of access for these tiring legs, and also those rushing moments during  ground operation for Flexi-gates in the wee hours of the morning.

From the morning briefings , to lunches at noon on a crowded staff canteen, the ambient and relaxing dinner on the Changi Recreation Club (CRC), the laughs and talks with managers, the coffee and tea drinks for late night supper , and the friendly staffs surrounding the airport.

I’m blessed to have the people who mentored me throughout the journey, and as much as they say I’ve changed and improved, it took a while for me to accept that, and truly believe that I’m a changed person now.

Confidently saying, that I’ve learn how to approach people better, and communicate better, it really feels amazing to understand, to be able to lead, mentor, the ability to maintain a calm person while reacting to difficult situations.

As much as the saying goes, never forget your roots. I started with a open mind, new and I willingly accepting ideas and face my fears. The team that had gave me the strength, pushed me. Team Charlie.

Somewhere along the way, new TM’s and DTM’s were introduced, there was a reshuffling.  The team that still kept going despite the challenges of having to know each other for a shorter period of time. Heads up, they were one of the best people I’ve met. Ones that I can always talk about with feelings, not only with regards to work but also our own lives. One’s that are always fun to work with. Work hard and play hard. The new Team Charlie along with the new batch of interns.

It helps me understand that life is ever changing. I managed to meet new people in school every semester, and so is the industry. New people are introduced, and we try to get along with each other despite the differences. Afterall, is it one common goal, to work in unity.

I will never have experienced this anywhere else, Internship has played a big change in making my life a journey worth remembering.

Daily Question By Thought Questions : As Old as It Gets.

The older I get, the more i think about life and how I do things. Everyday, a life experience. Beautiful how the mind works, i see life as learning in a lifelong journey to greater heights.  Just given to me and the more I’m able to allow myself to think about it even further.
